The Girl Across From Me In The Coffee Shop Poem by Rosanna Miller

The Girl Across From Me In The Coffee Shop

She looks pensive,
Lost in thought.
Finding the remnant of last night's dream
Somewhere in the depths of the ‘to dos',
Stuck between the ‘shoulds' and ‘musts'.
A sip of cappuccino.
Where is the place where dreams fade?
That momentary blip between lucid and lost,
An echo of deja vu that appears and is gone.
She tries to focus but instead finds a block.
Thud.
Thinking,
'Themes are thwarted thus far,
Distant is the dream that dances in the depths.'
