The Girl That Lives In Dreams Poem by Mariam de Haan

The Girl That Lives In Dreams

Alone on the beach they sit,
Him and the girl of his dreams.
She is not all that pretty
Not all that amazing
But still she pesters his dreams.

They have already dated these two
Now they are exs and friends.
He watches her in the moonlight
As her scarf flows from left to right
Much like it does in his dreams.

He has never kissed those lips
And has never caressed her hips.
His friends think differently
And the girl they find crazy
But she is still in his dreams.

And when he moves closer to her,
She shuffles away and draws a border.
He says if he want he could grab her
And show her different forms of pleasure
Just like he does in his dreams.

When he threatens to kiss and pin her
She just looks and she laughs.
Then she runs down the beach and picks up a shell
He just stays to watch her, leaves her be free
Exactly like in his dreams.
