The Girl With The Porcelain Skin Poem by Faith Rivaille

The Girl With The Porcelain Skin

There was a girl,
Young and lively,
As life threw her challenges,
She continued on,
She continued on and on,
Despite the harshness in life's tone,
She was happy,
Then she wasn't,
Life had beaten her down to a pulp,
She waved the white flag,
Rang the bell,
Threw in the towel,
Gave in to the sadness,
The sadness that now envelops her soul,
The sadness that hides within,
The sadness that consumes her being,
Ruins the happy moments,
Keeps the light in her life dull,
Until one day,
Until the day she took a knife,
Until the day she saw the light,
Until the day the sadness stopped,
Until the day she lost her heart,
Until the day her throat was sliced,
Until the day she took her last breath,
When the knife glazed her porcelain skin,
When she realized she was nothing,
She didn't matter,
She was a waste of space,
It fully sunk in that day,
The day of her last breath,
When she set her soul free,
Let go of her fears,
Her worries and dismay,
Until her happiest day...
