The Glories Of Mary Part 6 (Meeting Of Mary With Jesus On The Way To Golgotha)

The_Dolours_of_Mary (meeting of Mary with Jesus on the way to Golgotha)

As a lamb lead to the slaughter
Jesus is lead to Golgotha
With a heavy beam on his shoulder.

Then the bitter griefful sights met
Mary recognized not her Christ
But a malefactor sans a right.

Covered with wounds and blood
From the foot upupupup to the head
Still with a wreath of thorns crowned.

Mother would have had him embraced
But the guards thrust her aside,
With insults, urging forward her suffering Lord.

Mothers feel the sufferings of their children
With a greater pain
Than that of their own.

Hail! Mother, poor woman
Suffering greatly with Jesus thy son
For the benefits of thy sinful children.
