The Good Man (Re-Edited) Poem by Cian Keevsia

The Good Man (Re-Edited)

Shshshsh
it'll all be okay
forget it shut it out forget
he is a good man
has a family three kids must be a temporary glitch
forget it
let go
let it go
holding on won't do anybody any good
even if you feel like burning the patches on your skin
Where his fingers touched
you're a child just a child
it'll all be okay
he is a good man
don't worry we won't ever leave you alone with him again
hush there stop crying
can't hurt more than when you fell off your bicycle the other day
stop making a fuss never tell if anybody asks
he must be stressed out or drunk
he is a good man
stop crying in the corner
shrieking in the middle of the night
you'll wake the neighbours
go socialise remember
never tell
remember
forget
remember
stop wincing at touches
stop drooping your head in shame
it is a shame it is shameful what happened
but not if you don't say
don't tell
it only exists in your mind
if nobody knows there is nothing to justify
you will remain pristine
come on now get over it
it happened a week
a year
10 20 30 years ago
why do your hands still quake
when I say his name
he is a good man
he is a good man
