The Good Old Days Poem by Talmadge Rogalla

The Good Old Days

I recall the days of old,
When humanity wasn’t quite so called,
And people stood up morally bold.
When people wore clothes all neat,
And the women were warm and sweet,
And time did not have such fast feet.
When the weather was far more mild,
And people were not quite so wild,
Nor did we get half so riled.
In the days when you would smile,
At those that went the extra mile,
When love was shown once in a while.
When the food was quite cheap,
Before the days of technologies leap,
When shop prices did not make you weep.
When a spade was called a spade,
And false advertising they forbade,
And when honest money could be made.
In the days when we had pride,
We did not run or go and hide,
In the days that have gone bye,
In the days before humanity didn't die.
