The Goodbye Poem by Pensive Phoenix

The Goodbye

Rating: 5.0

How do I let you go?
How do I let you know
The thoughts inside my head,
The things that weren’t said.
I’m not good at the goodbyes
And this has been the hardest one.
I’m not good at the farewells
And this has been the longest one.
I don’t understand love
But this has been the strongest one,
This has been the deepest one

I don’t want to let you go,
I’m not ready for this goodbye
Want you here with me forever
I’ll never let you die
This can’t be the goodbye

It’s harder than it’s ever been,
It’s deeper than I’ve ever seen,
And it’s killing me, so that I can’t see clearly anymore,
And I don’t know how I’m going to move on,
And I don’t know how I can leave what’s already gone

They say it’s only pain,
But everybody’s not the same,
And you think you’ll go insane,
If it will never be the same,
I’m not good at the goodbyes
And this has been the hardest one,
I’m not good at the farewells
And this has been the longest one,
I don’t understand love
But this has been the strongest one,
This has been the deepest one
