The Grace Of God Poem by Jinge Norvall

The Grace Of God

Is there anyone who can hold me
Without ever letting go
Or one who can uplift me
When my life has sunk too low

Is there one who will love me
No matter what I do
Or one who will forgive me
And accept me through and through

Is there one who will save me
When I've fallen in the sewer
Then wash me, perfume me
Till I'm fragrant as a flower

Is there one who will heal me
Body, spirit, soul
When pain and sickness gnaw at me
And leave a gaping hole

I know no man who's filled
With such compassion, such great power
For all have fallen short of it
Since mankind's earliest hour

But I have felt the evidence
Of the caring heart of God
Who gave me reason to believe
That in Him I might live

My life redeemed, my ransom paid
By Christ who in His love
Nailed my sins upon the cross
Then tossed them far away

My name is written on His hands
Each tear I've cried He's caught
Because He's promised to make up
For all the evil wrought

I praise my God and thank Him
That though I trip and fall
His mercy saves me every time
And I rise up and give Him my all.
