The Grapevine Poem by Lauren

The Grapevine

The Grapevine

The days are remembered
Where nothing had to be said,
We could read each other's minds
Got into each other's head.
Now I sit back and watch the change
A curve in the straight line.
Oh how I miss those days,
The days back at the the grapevine.

The days before heartbreak,
Before I knew what pain truly was,
Happy and blissful through anything
I was carefree and myself just because.
I take charge to change the change,
Perhaps you're similar to me, not so fine.
Oh how I try to go back to those days,
The days at the grapevine.

The days are gone but not forgotten
Before you came and changed my ways,
For better or worse, is the question,
Anyway, my life is happier these days.
Now I sit back and try to forget you,
Yet I still want to drink the finest wine.
Oh how I can't make up my mind unlike,
The days back at the grapevine.

These days are here unfortunately,
I'm having a hard time dealing with this,
Some of the hardest decisions have to be made
Happier days are what I miss.
I take charge and yet I can't change,
Sometimes I wonder if this is a sign.
Oh I would do anything to go back to the days,
The days at the grapevine.
