The Graveyard Poem by Darren Harris

The Graveyard

A cry for help that’s all I gave,
I begged you for my life to save,
I asked for help,
No one was there,
Now at my grave I stand and stare,

I asked you Jenna, Lizzie and Stu,
Please come see me I need to talk to you,
You all said you would,
You’d all be there,
Now at my grave I stand and stare,

I waited for hours, I waited all night,
Sat in my room contemplating my plight,
Looking out of the window,
To see if you were there,
Now at my grave I stand and stare,

But you all let me down, you left me alone,
You ignored my pleas, you didn’t even phone,
As my tears ran dry,
None of you were there,
Now at my grave I don’t stand and stare,

For my grave is now full,
And it’s your DAD,
It’s your LOVER,
You’re FRIEND,
It’s me; it’s me that lies there.
