The Great Ones Poem by Lisa Zaran

The Great Ones

Rating: 4.5

~who are they, the great ones?
~Adler

They are the ones
who can untongue you,
the poet Adler says.

Who can hang you up
by your heartstrings
gory with song.

They live in places
called the City of Glorified Love.

They live inside
of our ecstacy.
And crowd our heads
with devotion.

They will come on a day,
Adler says,
that drips like honey.

They will come on a day
as bloody as this one is,
as bloody as tommorrow.

Already I can feel the tension.
The heat rising in my pelvis.
The plum of me blushing.
