The Greatest Achievement Poem by Laurence Overmire

The Greatest Achievement

There are some who think

Greatness is a deed
Intrepid dare of adventure
How to render a name
That transcends time
They spend their lives
In the vain throes of immortality

But true greatness is much less, yet
Infinitely more
A thought, held close to the heart
Touching the wond'ring mind of God
A sound that passes from hand to
Hand

Across the space of eternity.
