The Grocery Bag In The Wind Poem by Cam Brimhall

The Grocery Bag In The Wind

The grocery bag in the wind,
Blowing on and on,
Like the lonesome cowboy rides,
Riding on and gone,

People come and people go,
The story of our lives,
Just once I'd like time to stop
But cruel it deprives.

The tragedy of life is this:
Someone you love dear,
Becomes a fleeting memory,
Never to reappear.

So life is like the grocery bag,
All wrinkled up and vain,
Disappointment scourges it,
Love is lost to pain.

The grocery bag in the wind,
Blowing on and on,
Like the lonesome cowboy rides,
Riding on and gone.
