-the Hanging Rope- a Revision

-The Hanging Rope-
The rope hangs on but only a second away.
Once pulled by a body it'll begin to sway.
Hanging there so alluring and free.
i look through the noose to see a reflection of me.
The rope hangs balanced, centered and alone.
One quick touch and that balance will be thrown.
It's splintered thread like grass on an open plain,
Where this grass grows-it blankets all pain.
Such woeful excitement it is, to have ones breath taken.
Yet so shamed it makes me- to have such a beautiful still: swing shaken.

The noose is symbolic. an image of sorrow.
so look through the noose. death will soon follow.
So terrible is the noise from living. The need to personify ones truest essence.
To muffle tainted misgivings, to
retire to quiescence.
I stand here now-seduced by the Hanging Rope,
But if I am to feel it's embrace I must do unburdened: a reduced hope.
