The Hapless Man Poem by Vadakkumpurath Ramesan

The Hapless Man

He was orphaned
Not because he is parent less
But for the simmering neglect
The fellow-men around him
Stretch to him on a plater
Of sarcasm giggling!
His dreams with chandelier
Beams like the full moon
Of the autumn night
But the sobre touch away
But the sombre look peeped into
His eyes beleaguered with disgust
He was cosying up dreams
He was attempting in futile
To pass his dream camel
Through the needle hole
Of his vaulting ambitions
That often loses its legs
To fix on earth
Before the swirls around
That loom large agonisingly
To his utter dismay
He was planning and plotting
With the armoury of his
Vital vibrant advances,
But it was destined
That he shall not survive
It was destined
As if the verdict from the blue
With a thunderous blow
That he nip the bud
Of his dreams ever
And face the trial of life
The ordeal none can escape!
