The Harsh Truths About Other People Poem by RIC BASTASA

The Harsh Truths About Other People

IN ONE of those streetcars
named desire
one shall glean
that truth hurts sometimes
and even kills

it would have been better
if
out of respect for life
one simply should have been more
gentler
about the harsh truths
about others

we can be harsh on ourselves
because we are not afraid to die.
