The History of COVID-19
A virus traveled across the sea,
And soon it reached the U.S. rapidly.
In early 2020, the world changed fast,
A frightening chapter had begun at last.
The schools shut down, the streets were bare,
People stayed home and sheltered there.
We wore our masks and washed our hands,
While trying to follow new demands.
The doctors worked both day and night,
And nurses fought with all their might.
Some families suffered painful loss,
While others faced the growing cost.
Then vaccines came and brought new hope,
Giving people ways to cope.
Millions received their shots with care,
And signs of brighter days were there.
New variants came and spread once more,
Bringing challenges as they had before.
But through the fear, we learned to stand,
And help each other hand in hand.
Though years have passed since those dark days,
COVID left its lasting trace.
It taught us health is something we share,
And courage grows when people care.
We faced the fear, we learned, we grew,
And found that hope could carry us through.
The story remains for all to see:
Together, we can face adversity.
