The Hood - Poem by tenneh passawe

Struggling on the streets,
Not looking so good
Barely got a place to live
Mama struggling too, daddy on crack
My life a mess, I'm feeling so depressed
Skipping school, chilling with the crew
Gang banging, running from the police
Yea it's a life or death prosperity
Ain't nothing but a fool
Coming home late at night
Mama catch me, puttin a whooping on my backside
I realized my ways thugging ain't cool
Coming home, seeing daddy hitting mama
So I hit him too
Now daddy gone
It's just me my mom and sister too
Time passed nothing has changed
Its still the same game
Still trying to make a life
But known that life is hard
