The Hunger Poem by Patrick Villareal

The Hunger

Residing in his chambers the young man stares upward, there is a strange look within his eye
Completed with a raw feeling inside himself, his hunger he can no longer defy
A craving that has cried out to him since the beginning of his time
A lust with the might of thousands; a need he cannot define
beaten and bested throughout his life, the young man decides to act
beginning his transformation, leaving his mind far from intact
Attempting to quell this hunger, he locks what was him away
hoping to gain so much more, praying that the prisoner will eventually decay
demented and now unstable the young man now grins as his mind caves in
shifting his hunger into starvation, his demon thrives and guile's within
There is hunger dwelling inside the troubled man that will continue to build
A hunger that will forever torment him and remain unfulfilled...
