The Hurtful Pain Poem by Grant Mitchell

The Hurtful Pain

Rating: 5.0

I wake up everyday
Wondering why i threw my life away
Getting into bad habits
Acting real crabit
Families are meant to be there for you
So why do i lead them astray
I self harmed for most of my days
Just hoping, something else can take this pain away
Your reading this and i bet you think i'm crazy
But im not i'm just young and lazy
Some nights I want to cry out
But i can't cause people are about
People stare at my scars in disgust
Those people i know that i can't trust
They always say i should talk or shout
I try, but no words come out
Sometimes i'm scared that i do it wrong
When i listen to the lyrics in a sad song
When i try to stop it's like a drug
Eating away at you until you give up
I just wanna run and hide
This pain i have hurts deep inside
I wish I could start my life over again
away from this hurtful pain.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem was written by my twin sister who sadly took her own life last monday, this was one of the last poems she wrote to my mother - as Sarah loved writing poems. So i feel it's my duty to publish her poems & get them noticed. Sarah suffered a traumatic experience at the age of 14 & i love this poem she wrote as she clearly explains how she feels which Sarah rarely showed me & my family & her fellow peers.
