The Illusionist Poem by sahar alameddine

The Illusionist

Hiding behind a fake smile since my innocence has been raped by the cruelty
I'm the prisoner of the realm of destiny renounced from my modesty
the plague of this doleful life has killed thy hope till reaching depression
this woe is consigned to those deprived from their ambition

this sublime ravening is growing ever down as humanity is fading
the world has been covered by this dark cloak as we keep pretending
pretending that the eye of god is blind and we continue making mistakes
living in our illusion and a world full of darkness is what we made

the innocence is crying, such a shame! and we still tearing hearts
the human been is the blamed and we keep watching our world falling apart
how much cruelty can we plant in every single part of our lives
as much as there's tears filling the ocean and we still light flames

another hope went astray when the last candle has been turned off
this misery is holding our spirit till claiming pride became a doth
dear god thy mercy we're human we're your slaves in this masquerade
and death will snatch the mask of truth and will erase the illusion that we made
