The In Between Poem by Robert Glass

The In Between

If the sun were to burn out now,
It would take eight minutes
Before we knew -
Eight short minutes.

And what would you do
If it did so?
Would you pull the gun
From the drawer,
The pills?

Would you fall on your knees,
Pray to your heaven?
Would you gather the ones you love,
Hold them till the darkness
Came,
While tears rushed from hopeless eyes?

Just remember:
It doesn't matter how we arrived
In this world;
Nor does it matter
How we leave -
It's all the in between!
