The Innocent Poem by Anonymous Star

The Innocent

Rating: 3.5

BANG THUD! BOMBS, EXPLOSIONS & SHOTS!
Hearts shattered but tears haven't been wept
Promises made but never were they kept
Lies told yet they were believed
The truth was known but people were deceived.

An entire years has flew right by,
We've got along with our lives, yours and mine;
Meanwhile, the bright colours of the world have died.

The lives of the Innocent have been stolen away
By those corrupted minds whom have been led astray.
Now the word innocent can never be peaceful
Its been destroyed by those evil people.

All the preachers, leaders, nations and tribes
How could these creatures kill yet be so blind?
I guess this world has fallen into such a big calamity,
That no soul, no heart, no human longs a speck of sympathy.

Now the victims have to hear all the explosions and gun shots, And if they were to find a bottle of water they'd think they've hit the jackpot!

Surrounded by crumbled buildings and bits of glass,
Wondering how long this terror will last
Cant we just push forward the future and forget the past?
Except they'll be no point because we'll be right back to the start.

So they scream 'Mummy, Daddy have you gone to the lord? '
Those poor souls searching while being pushed and ignored
'O God, save us from this hell we've been placed in! '
Can anyone not see the destruction they are facing?

'Dear darling god hears your call and he is here
And I am sorry to say he's the only one who cares.'
But then that one tear we see that makes them cry
Will not only make theirs but our eyes run dry.

When the Innocent fall so does the strong and the weak
Conflict knows it cant win, so one day there will be peace!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This story is dedicated to the children of Syria and Palestine
While I was watching the news, I saw images and short videos of crying kids it broke my heart to see what was happening.
So I went to the park and onto the swings and began thinking about the world around me. Then from that I started writing all the pain that came to me in my special book which I always carry around.
Tears built up in my eyes but I realised they go through worse so I kept it in.
I guess I was truly inspired by those children and the news.
Please give your honest opinions and views on it.
