The Internal War Poem by Gregory Washington

The Internal War

Everyday is a new beginning.
Everyday is a challenge to suppress fleshly fascination.

My righteousness is purposeful.
Though, my temptation reminds me of a pleasant, yet bitter zest.

For my spirit is willing to move mountains through frigid winds.
But my body is forevermore ready to give into another immoral act.

How can something so wrong feel so right?
But how can something so right feel so without?
