The Invincible Poem by okpeta Gideon Iching

The Invincible

At cross road, I stood as an ocean.
Deep in me, thoughts of invincibility emerged:
I should be saddled with authority to dethrone the spirit,
Make it felt the impact of its sting...
Mortals have not discovered the mysteries of yourstrength,
Your secrets are unveiled to the unconscious world.
Those in agony give themselves to you,
Yet you never received them.
In the prime of ages, you come knocking
To steal away joy.
If you're truly invincible, make yourself visible to man,
Stand up to him in battle.
Your strength is invisibility.
Those who are your casualties are without Him
For in Him, your spirit His servant.
One day your turpitude will stand against you,
You will be in the abyss
Where your strength is weakness.
