The Joy Of Living

The Joy of Living

at sundown
in Golfe-Juan
i would like
a Mediterranean spot
for tomorrow &
the days after tomorrow
i would like
a joy of living plate
Picasso made
outside the bistro
by the harbor in Golfe-Juan
raw veggies three colors
atop pebbles
in terracotta pot
marble bread by Veziano
he's gained entry to Monaco
olive oil with anchovy
in earthenware bowl
to dip in
anyone for
a farandole
to Matisse the fauvist
here's, says the waiter stiff with
backstage decorum,
a specialty from the chef,
the bubble
of sifted seawater
pepped up with lemon
to be slurped down like oyster,
get out!
shall we proceed to the first course?
