The Keys Poem by Jayson Howard

The Keys

There are keys that I’m touching.
There’s a song I’m constructing.
Maybe I’ll drive to your island,
so I can search for the words I’m not finding.
Maybe I’ll stop by the aquatic center,
to see your face.
And maybe you’ll want an adventure,
so we’ll get out of this place.

We’ll hit the road, and we’ll sing songs,
and yes, Hello Kitty, can come along.
If anyone gets hurt, you’ve got it covered,
and the day may come where we realize what we’ve discovered.

So I’ll look down once more, at the keys in front of me.
Cause sooner or later, the words I want, will come out as I sing.
Maybe in late April, I’ll come around.
So I’ll buy you a candle that’ll reach to your head from the ground.
And maybe I’ll stop by the aquatic center,
to see your face.

Yeah, who knows. Who knows.
What we’ve discovered.

There are keys that I’m touching…
