The Moment Poem by Jayson Howard

The Moment

So you know. I have two methods of writing songs.1: I just sit down think of what sounds good, slap it on paper, and type it up.2: I sit down at a piano, sing whatever comes out, and then write it down later, Well, this one is number two. And that method usually makes it much longer, and more, um meaningful. Anyways:

The Moment

It's only been a couple of weeks.
With the way things go, I know,
you're the girl for me.
The moment I saw you down there,
I knew it was so unfair, that you were there,
I was here, but we were together, my dear.
Now, look at me, tapping on these keys.
I'm writing you a song; I don't know why it's so long.
Cause I kept thinking, kept writing,
and here it is in front of me.

I'm glad, I'm glad,
I can come,
to everything, you're a part of...
to share those things, to fall in love.

The first thing, that I noticed,
is the way you notice everyone else.
When you light up, and you smile,
when make others feel worthwhile.
And those eyes, they grow wide,
and they have, when they've seen mine.

And I'm glad, I'm glad,
I could be here standing next to you.
I'm glad, you always get me,
to come through.

So, let me say, that you're, in the best way,
the coolest, and can sing,

and all the notes, following,
belong to you.
To you, yes to you.

Lets walk hand and hand,
lets got to a beach and roll in the sand.
Lets look like we're in love,
cause the fun we have will be enough.
And now we'll show, the world, so everyone will know...

I'm glad, I'm glad,
that you get me, so easily.
Because it's what, I've been looking for,
for a century.
I'm glad, I'm glad,
I can come, to everything, you're a part of...
to share those things, to fall in love.
