The Kid In The Corner Poem by tori trentacoste

The Kid In The Corner

There is a kid that sits in the corner of the class,
Quietly just sits and stares.
He does not know I watch him.
I don’t really think he cares
His nose is always in a book.
Reading is his passion.

Just like a rhythm he flips the pages
Tick. Tick. Tick to the clock.
The pages turn faster and
Then all of the sudden it stops.
He looks up,
He catches me looking at him,
Smiles an enchanting smile
The bell rings and he is gone.
