The Killer Poem by AAldrich Suarez

The Killer

I saw the killer
Who fled that night
I saw how the birds flew
from the trees around
I heard his gun
as clear as he mourned
When a love unloved
You know already
how this story be told

There was a night destined
For a husband and wife
The wife patiently waited
and the husband came rushing
to their house
A moment that's usual became
an incident
I heard a loud burst from a gun
That made a victim and a killer

More interesting than the husband's sorrow
Was the day he joined the funeral parade
He shed tears more than anyone else
He stood until his wife was finally in her grave

I approached the man
And he gave me a gun
He said "you can kill me now,
but she will be more happy if you don't"
"She's dead, and i am in the process"
"Her agony fell short, and mine is long"
"So who do you think suffers more,
When a love unloved
You know already how it goes."
And so the story has been told.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I hope you can relate to it but i made it to show how hard for a person to cope up with his/her mistakes after he/she realized them. And i wish for forgiveness to all those who are in the same position with the killer...
