The Kite Poem by Katherine H. Belle

The Kite

Rating: 5.0

I will be your kite string

The force that keeps you grounded

as you float around in bliss

high above the green pastures of tomorrow

I will be your kite string

I can keep you safe

As you let go of all your insecurities

and feel like you're blowing away

I will be your kite string

Tethering you down

to reality

but letting you float freely above it

They cannot touch you my dear kite

they cannot judge you

They do not know

as i do

how much you need to show

Open faced

and open hearted

you can freely roam your mind

Open skies all around you

clouds caressing your delicate skin

Wind tousled hair,

tear stung eyes

and you shall feel at peace.

So worry not my little kite

I will be your kite string

I wont let you float away

When the skies turn gray

and the rain comes pouring

and you whip around violently

frail and confused

I will be your kite string

and lead you home again
