The Lady Of The Lake Poem by Timeless Reflections

The Lady Of The Lake

Shuddering by the cold mountain breeze
Rushing down through brush and trees
Or calm and placid, mirroring the clouds
The snowy peaks which thin mist enshrouds

A dark secret harbours this far-off mountain lake
Revealing its haunting beauty at early daybreak
Cold and mysterious, rimmed by marsh marigolds
An eerie presence deep within its waters holds

Strange tales by many fearful souls are told
That recount a mystery bizarre and very old
A white spectral form by the tranquil waters stalks
Breathes ghostly whispers, slithers among the rocks

Those who unwisely wandered in this sublime shore
No one has ever heard of or seen them anymore
They've all committed a grave, fateful mistake
They disturbed and vexed the Lady of the Lake
