The Last Enemy Poem by Oluseyi Akinbami

The Last Enemy

Beyond these garnished gayety
The soul speeds to its rest,
As merry moon mops the residue
Or sorrowing sun sinks the beauty of youth
Hastily, the days go bye and man on a hurried voyage
Swiftly, earths glories fades
They vanish and are not.
We cringe and bend under the burden of time
Age, though few; left its scars with memories
At this borderline, I must let go
I seek the hope beyond time. Gained through The Cross
My Lord was there
now up there waiting
What is more?
The last enemy at the door
I pass through its door by the blood of Jesus
Alright, Farewell
