“the Lasting One” Poem by Sean Seguin

“the Lasting One”

The one for me and the one for you
Do not stand far from subdued
The only wish and wish of fate
Is to be the one knelt by your estate
The words come easy and come true
And finish with the special ‘I love you’

To be told the same is a song of glory
Heavens singing the entire chorus
From start to end – where life should be
Can only start with out me

As I sit and ponder these waking dreams
They Begin to grow founder as it seems
Can I do the things I ask?
Only imaging the past

I thought that I was right
Only to be bedevil on first sight
You cannot expect the worst from me
Because I’ve given you the opposite, you see?

My heart sits still with grieving oils
Punished in my most hated quarrels
Alas you bring me one last tear

The one that last forever I fear
