The 'lectric Dressing Gown Poem by John Carter Brown

The 'lectric Dressing Gown

All hail the 'lectric dressing gown
no more the shivering skin,
sit down, relax, and pop it on
and plug the beauty in;
With Christmas round the corner
the temperature is down,
so surely everybody needs
a 'lectric dressing gown.

Go buy one for your grannies
your grandads and your mums,
it's the perfect Christmas present
for when the season comes;
All hail the 'lectric dressing gown,
now 'Buy one get one free'
soft as down and choc-a-block
with electricity.

Don't worry about the wattage,
the current drawn is low,
just plug that little treasure in
and soon your cheeks will glow;
I'd love a 'lectric dressing gown
'twould be a boon to me,
of colds and influenza,
I'm sure I would be free.

Now, of all my bright ideas
I think this one should score,
but I just don't understand why
no one's thought of it before;
Hang on! a thought has just occured
that really isn't fair:
If I'm plugged in there's no way
I could move out of my chair.
