The Lie - Poem by Calista Miller Burton

It isn't easy living a lie
Pretending you care
Wanting to cry
Hoping that soon the change will come
Expected to sit afraid to run
It isn't easy deceiving yourself
Putting your feelings
Upon a shelf
Praying each day you will survive
That vicious connving
Bare faced lie.
