The Light That Guides Me Poem by Meagan Miller

The Light That Guides Me

Faster, slower.
Forward, backward.
Turn left or right.
You're the light that guides me
All throughout the night.

You are my world, my everything.
Without you I'd be empty, full of nothing.
Since you're finally mine,
After many moons of waiting,
I might as well tell you
That my heart is yours for the taking.

Things were once different;
Complicated, clear as mud.
Now, if I could, I'd keep you beside me
To keep everything going good
Becsuase when you aren't here,
I'm incomplete.
It's like a race that I'm losing;
With the world I cannot compete.
But with you by my side,
I'll win this race.

Be beside me;
Be the light that guides me.
On a stormy day
When things don't seem
To want to go my way,
Hold me close, your lips against mine,
And let the world float away.
Lose track of time,
Just be there withme,
And always be the light that guides me.

See to it that I'm yours forever
And that no one interferes
With our plans to be together.
Hold my hand when it's dark and
I'm scared of what's out there;
Tell me you love me, no matter how we may be.
Just be the light that guides me.
