The Little Darling You Poem by shailesh kalsia

The Little Darling You

There’s a little, shy someone,
deep within your heart, somewhere,
always trying to whisper something,
and you know you need to listen,
and surely you will, someday;
It’s just that right now it’s impossible somehow.
But you have every hope that,
on this treadmill of hopes and fears,
there will come a break,
and you will be still, and you will hear, and listen.
Till one day,
or perhaps one night,
Some rude stranger declares
that your time here has run out
And declares you on your way out.
Find sometime for your darling self,
for far too often in this blizzard, here called life,
worn out and spent, the last image one beholds
Is that darling little girl, your soul,
still holding the bunch of wild flowers,
you had gathered for the Darling Emperor,
And somehow never got a chance to look for.
