The Little Of You Poem by navin sinha

The Little Of You

The Little of You

Do you still with downcast eyes,
Sit with your head on your knees,
Or with a smile, hide your tearful eyes,
Or burst into laughter with nonchalant ease,

Do you still run your fingers on your face?
As you entwine your hair, in strands when they fall,
Or blush yourself as you run for space,
When some stalking eyes give an unwanted call

Do the winter breezes still express their charms?
As they gently settle on your face,
Or do you welcome the sun with open arms,
As you hold their rays in a tight embrace

Do you still in your moments of sorrow,
Hide your feelings in careless fear,
Or wait for someone to come and borrow,
Your freshening smile in exchange of a tear,

Does anybody dear, in his truest heart,
Loved as I, with such élan and grace,
Or held you in closeness or distance apart,
As I held you in a soothing embrace

Alas love as I close my heart and think with my head,
The mist of time gets thicker still,
For every step love, that you have taken ahead,
I linger behind with an uncanny will,

Our days were numbered in the fingers of destiny,
And our love unphrased, in the annals of time,
In The little of you etched in my memory,
I preserve my moments –those moments sublime.
