The Lonely One Poem by Swagat Bhattacharjee

The Lonely One

Rating: 5.0

Staring the heights
I may ever achieve,
Lost on this barren land
Lonely i shall live.

There stands someone
With a helpful hand,
Striving my way through
Lonely i still stand.

On my way to nowhere
Unseen dangers i might face.
Jamming my paths of hope,
Lonely i still gaze.

The flights of life
Are taking me nowhere,
I question myself,
'Are all these fair? '

My heart is corroded
With cold blooded rust.
And on this rugged crust,
This can't be just.

Mesmerizing thoughts are but,
Just sighs..
No bliss within...
As my future cries: '(

Earth is a junkyard
Of sorrows so mean.
Those untold miseries
Have mauled me within.

Some moments of pain
Is all it takes,
The blood gets cold
And the heart breaks!

Man is not known
To what sorrow is.
The self preferred joy
Is all he sees.

Songs and praises
I often recieve.
They last no long,
Yet! Lonely i live...

We are all the lonely ones at some point in our lives. Some for the entirety of being. So we build these fires that draw in all our desires, hopes, and dreams. If only to reach a single one. In it is a little bit of that happiness among all the sadness and misery. Great Poem, It Echos Our Humanity In Its Most Raw Moment.
