The Longest Hour Poem by Austin Moore

The Longest Hour

The clock is ticking, mocking my emotion
Sinking in the sand washed up by the ocean
Tumble into an hour glass of desire
I offered you devotion, you put out my fire
Tapping my foot to the sound of the ticking
Before I know it I’m on the ground kicking
This hour has left me drowning in my mind
Drowning in the love that you left behind
