The Lost Children # 9-12 Poem by GORDON GILHULY

The Lost Children # 9-12

9

fiercely defended

empty cots beside you - no

one can be trusted

10

she returns to bed

I avert my eyes - all the

privacy she has

11

a woman goes to

the washroom - at every step

humiliation

12

even as you sleep

we watch you - charity calls

for such sacrifices
