"Listen to me,
and do as I say;
who will care for you
when you're in dismay?
I am your Mother,
and your only hope
when all others
start to cough and choke;
Obey my command,
yes, keep your eyes down,
I own you, I gave birth to you,
don't you dare frown;
Kill that freedom that
you think you've earned,
hide that smirk
that the world will burn, "
said the Mother to her
growing son,
and he rode off into the sunset,
never to return.
"Wait, my beta,
my love, my child,
don't leave me alone in
my winterless mind;
I might've been harsh,
but I hate you not,
I was just scared
that they'll make you rot;
Remember when I bought
you those red shoes,
and how you burnt
your foot on that fuse?
Didn't I cool you down
my son?
Didn't I wither in pain
while the sun shone?
They are using you,
this I know,
and when they do,
they'll dump you like garbage, too,
but, I will stay with you,
and feed you good,
I'll clean up after you,
and raise you as I should,
see, I may have hurt you,
and forced you into the dark,
but you're the only light
that lights up my heart;
hold my hand once again
as you did when you were small,
and make me feel that
you depend on me, please, don't fall,
please, come back my son,
my flesh and blood,
that girl who you love
will do you no good;
for only I love you,
yes, only I do,
I'll wait to see you grow into a man
with strapping shoulders and a face that broods,
please come back,
but don't fret if you don't,
always remember that you are a part of me,
and in my eyes, you're no stone, "
the mother cried for a few hours,
that turned into days and nights,
yet, her son never returned,
even to see her funeral pyre;
as she took in one last breath,
she closed her eyes,
and thought of her son
who had left her side.
