The Love Game Poem by Matthew Edan Oliver Palma

The Love Game

Rating: 5.0

With every advance
A dare to take the chance
An invitation to a dance
A chance for some romance

As you taught me how to love
You also taught me how to lie
As you brought my soul to laugh
You also caused my eyes to cry

‘ Caught in a one way street
There’ 's no way to be discreet
Ain’ t it always a big shame
When we play love like a game

Used to be's no longer count
Now unsure of what we want
All we do is crash and burn
Hit the wall with every turn

Now trapped in a lonely street
Standing low so bruised and beat
Aren'’ t we even a bit ashamed
Taking part in this love game

In my dreams I see your face
But without even a trace
Of reluctance or of shame
In starting this love game…
