The Mahogany Sun - Poem by Ridah Ellahi

the mahogany sun
nothing but a witness
that the day ends
with blood shed
stories unfolded
lies sealed
the sky
the divine stretch of blue
now tainted by the redness
that this sun
has enveloped around it
a realization strikes
as the knight of the darkness
engulfs our existence
in his armour
every day, must end with a night
every light, must be followed by darkness
awaiting another sunrise
we hope
