The Man I Wait For Poem by Drew Fisher

The Man I Wait For

Rating: 5.0

I built many walls
to keep the pain out
However, I built no doors
and now there's no one about

Is he coming?
Is he here?

I wait for a man
who calls me friend,
yet over the walls
no message he sends.

Is he coming?
Is he here?

Is he coming
or is he not?
Slowly something creeps in
but is it what I sought?

Is he coming?
Is he here?

I never feel lonely
but is it because of the walls?
Am I just hiding my feelings?
When will the tall walls fall?

Is he coming?
Is he here?

Will I know his presence?
Will he let me know?
I know not what I'll call him.
The agony continues to grow.

Is he coming?
Is he here?

'Hello my child how are you? '
I ask him 'Where have you been? '
'I have been here the whole time.'
Now I've learned from then.

He is come!
He is here!
