Over the years and across the sands
lived a girl peculiar and strange
for she chose her life to be wild and naive

the world feared her for she feared none
then along came a man
who stole her heart and promised her heaven

she dreamed of him day in and day out
never realizing her fears
never knowing there could be tears

0 there she sat wondering why she held her pace
wondering why life shouldn't be simple and plain

she wanted to reach out
to shout
to open her wings and fly
to be his or to die

but alas
then it was too late
for the man who stole her heart
had been stolen by God
