The Map Poem by Tina Rizk

The Map

My love,

I take a pen
And draw on my heart's walls
All the paths that lead me to you
I draw bridges over lacs
With shortcut signs and green flags
Making sure nothing lacks

My heart is yours from the start
What's a life if apart
When you've got my heart's missing part
When life is a lie, a masquerade
Without you my sweet tender soulmate

My map and I are ready
My heart and soul are happy
Just went on my way merrily
So far everything feels heavenly

I carry the map in my hand
And your love in my heart
I follow the signs of the road
And the whisperings of my soul

Meet me at dawn by the sea
Not the one in tennessee
But the one to which we used to flee
