The Mark of Cain, a symbol of shame
A scar etched deep, with no one to blame
A curse so heavy, a burden to bear
A mark that follows, everywhere
Cain, the firstborn, son of Adam and Eve
His jealousy and rage, he couldn't relieve
He killed his brother, with a heart full of scorn
And from that moment, his life was torn
The mark of Cain, a stain on his skin
A constant reminder, of his greatest sin
No matter where he went, it never faded
A scar that mocked him, forever degraded
With bowed head, and eyes full of tears
Cain wandered the earth, for years and years
His mark, a target, for all to see
A sign of his guilt, for eternity
The mark of Cain, a warning to all
That vengeance and anger, can make one fall
It speaks of regret, and a life in despair
A cautionary tale, for all to beware
But Cain, he was more than just the mark
A man with a story, hidden in the dark
He was a brother, a son, a man of his own
His mark, just a reminder, of the seeds he had sown
For in his heart, there still lay a spark
A glimmer of hope, in the midst of the dark
He longed for forgiveness, and to make amends
But his mark, it seemed, would never transcend
The mark of Cain, a scar with a voice
It called out to him, with each passing choice
A reminder of pain, and a life gone wrong
A symbol of weakness, for all to prolong
But Cain, he refused to let it define
His story was more than just a cautionary sign
He was a man, with flaws and mistakes
But in his heart, a desire to break
The mark of Cain, it may never leave
But in his heart, he found the strength to believe
That redemption was possible, despite his past
And his mark, just a chapter, in a story that will last
For in the end, the mark of Cain
Was not a curse, but a lesson to gain
A reminder that our choices have a consequence
And that forgiveness, is our only defense
So let the mark of Cain, be a reminder to all
That our actions, no matter how small
Leave a mark, on our hearts and our soul
And only by love, can we be made whole.
