The Matrimony Song Poem by Winston Lu1

The Matrimony Song

I often hear the mumbled hiss
Disgruntled words sewn amiss
Unflattering and beneath her breath
That I'd often rather miss

Fairly rare when all was new
Familiar occurrences as we grew
Petitioned by mere infractions
As conversations ran askew

A bit like a zoo caught in a cage
I guess this will be the stage
The lovely song and dance
That of a ninth year marriage!
